Psychological and Criminological Aspects of Aggression and Aggressiveness
Abstract
Abstract. The problem of aggression and aggressiveness in the modern world is considered. Aggressive actions can be caused by social tension for any reason, individual, group and role frustration factors. All this is exacerbated in the conditions of war and corruption, which is currently taking place in Ukraine. This is the relevance of the article. Purpose: to clarify the social and natural determinants of aggressive behavior, to determine the causes of human aggressiveness and the possibilities of its neutralization. Methodological basis: systemic and historical approaches, as well as the formal-logical method, methods of induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, the principle of reflection, according to which all mental phenomena are the result of a reflection of the surrounding world. The conclusions state that the main cause of aggression lies in the state of society, the material and spiritual conditions of people's existence. Aggression can be considered as an adaptive reaction that gives advantages to individual people. Control of aggression is also an adaptive reaction that has a selective advantage for people. Criminal aggression is realized in violent crime, which is characterized by cruelty (sadism), a high degree of audacity and cynicism, a ruthless and uncompromising attitude towards the victim of the crime. The scientific novelty lies in substantiating the idea that it is impossible to eliminate all factors of aggressive behavior. It can only be controlled to a certain extent, primarily through the use of punishment. The study of psychological, physiological, biochemical, hereditary, situational and other mechanisms of anger, hostility, violence and aggression provides scientists with ample opportunities for inventing ways to prevent criminal and deviant behavior and treat mental illnesses. This is the practical significance of the study.
Keywords: conflict; hostile emotions; frustration; depression; violence, anger; violent crime.
