Leadership Qualities of Employees of the System of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Modern Scientific Discussion
Abstract
Abstract. The article provides a theoretical analysis of the problem of the formation and development of leadership qualities of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) system in modern scientific discourse. Scientific approaches of domestic and foreign researchers to defining the essence of leadership and leadership qualities, particularly in the context of law enforcement activities, are generalized. The views of contemporary scholars on the psychological characteristics of effective leaders and the peculiarities of developing leadership potential in the law enforcement sphere are considered. The psychological structure of leadership qualities is analyzed, which includes communicative-organizational, emotional-volitional, motivational, cognitive, and personal components. The importance of developing emotional intelligence, resilience, ethical behavior, responsibility, and the ability to make decisions in complex and unpredictable conditions of professional activity is substantiated. Based on the generalization of theoretical provisions and the requirements for the activities of security sector personnel of Ukraine under wartime conditions, the key leadership qualities of employees of the MIA system are identified and strategies for their development are proposed. The necessity of implementing special psychological programs, mentoring, reflective practices, and psychoeducational measures is emphasized. It is highlighted that the development of leadership is an important factor in increasing the effectiveness of managerial activity, strengthening the professional resilience of personnel, and enhancing public trust in the police.
